Saro has been producing audio narratives for several years. She got her start by studying under folklife documentarians Michael and Carrie Kline, and received a certificate in documentary studies, with a concentration in audio storytelling, from Duke University in 2015. While a graduate student at East Tennessee State University she launched the Recollections podcast for the B. Carroll Reece Museum, and she served as a folkways reporter fot West Virginia Public Radio’s Inside Appalachia in 2020.
